The committee identifies the technical challenges affecting the industry, prioritizes these challenges, then acts to ensure available resources are targeted at tackling these challenges.
Association members are kept up to date with the latest developments by way of grower meetings, newsletters, trips, and technology transfer events.
The Technical Committee consists of growers, industry consultants and researchers. They meet regularly throughout the year.
The committee has a close working relationship with the HDC. The committee works to ensure appropriate research proposals, meeting growers' needs, are forwarded to the HDC. The committee also acts as the first 'grower filter' by reviewing and commenting on HDC research proposals.
The Technical Committee also works closely with the HDC to ensure the results of research are effectively communicated to growers via technology transfer events.
