Derek Smith testimonial

"The protected ornamentals industry can be insular, with small family businesses - independent and isolated. One of the BPOA’s strengths is bringing these growers together."

Poinsettia Group Meeting round-up

24 Jan 2012
Poinsettias Last Tuesday (18 January 2012) saw the Poinsettia Group Meeting at Warwick with stimulating talks from several workers on LED lighting experimentation; bacterial pathogens; insect fungal pathogens; remote sensing and most importantly, low temperature poinsettia production and variety trialling.

The last talk given by Ute Ruttensperger from the Heidelberg Research Institute also gave important information on variety selection. A further presentation from the 'Stars for Europe' poinsettia promotional programme (unable to be presented on the day due to lack of time) describes the promotional programme run this year in the UK and is available on the related document link above as a downloadable pdf.
