Derek Smith testimonial

"The protected ornamentals industry can be insular, with small family businesses - independent and isolated. One of the BPOA’s strengths is bringing these growers together."

Home Grown gets registered

29 Jul 2011
Home Grown logoThe Home Grown logo, which promotes ornamental plants grown on British nurseries, has been registered as a trade mark.

The Home Grown scheme is run by the BPOA. The logo was designed in-house by the NFU for the BPOA.

The registered trade mark is a great step forward for Home Grown and will serve to protect, differentiate and add-value to the scheme.

Registering Home Grown as a trade mark gives the BPOA the exclusive right to use the mark in providing this service for the industry. It will help prevent people using the logo without the BPOA’s permission. It makes it much easier for the BPOA to take legal action against anyone who uses the Home Grown logo without permission. And it also allows Trading Standards Officers or Police to bring criminal charges against counterfeiters if they use the Home Grown logo.
